Selenium WebDriver is upgraded from Selenium RC. Selenium Web Driver accepts commands (sent with Selenese, or through a Client API) and sends those commands to a browser automatically. This is implemented via a browser-specific automated web driver, which can send web action commands to a browser, and retrieves results. Many browser drivers can launch and access a browser application or program (e.g. Firefox, Internet Explorer, or Chrome etc.).
